The Color Purple; A Review
This novel is absolutely purple!  Who doesn’t love a good light read about color, especially if it’s purple?  We find that this book is excellent for reading on the beach; it doesn’t require much thought, and it is easily finished in an hour or so.  It is such a pleasurable breeze that one need not read every word but merely skim and envision all the marvelous shades of purple.  At times it touched on magenta, but for the most part, it stayed on track.
We are so pleased that Oprah not only starred in the made-for-television mini-series in 1936, but she is also involved in the more current broadway production which features an astounding pyrotechnics display.  Overall, the book is much more true to royal purple than its adaptations which channel more of a lavendar vibe, so it is highly recommended that one reads this epic tale of purple as soon as possible.
